Updates on Ward 12 from Councilman Hassett

STUDENT DROP OFF LANE has been completed on Oakland Ave. and is operational for the benefit of student safety – this lane was created to improve traffic safety for students being dropped off for school.
DAVIS PARK – new crosswalks are to be installed between Davis Park and Greene Middle School across Chalkstone (funded by the 12th Ward Public Improvement Fund – CDBG and Bonds).
FATHER LENNON PARK – new walking track was installed several years ago and will now include new solar lighting along the path (funded by the 12th Ward Public Improvement Fund – CDBG and Bonds).
NATHANAEL GREENE - parking lot has been resurfaced; new trees have been planted; a landscaping plan is being developed to substantially improve the campus grounds (implementation Spring 2010).
CANDACE STREET PARK – a steering committee is currently developing a report with suggestions on park improvements and a plan is expected prior to construction in Spring 2010; (funded by the 12th Ward Public Improvement Fund – CDBG and Bonds)
JOHN O’BRIEN PARK (Regent Avenue) improvement plan being amended and will be ready for SPRING 2010
