-Sadly had to cancel our Fargnoli Park Farmers’ Market for Sunday but hope you will support our local farmers and businesses and stop by next week. As always, fun activities for the kids! Fargnoli Park, Smith St. between Academy and River Avenues, Sundays from 11am-2pm through Oct. 30th.

-We are ALWAYS looking for volunteers! Please let us know if you can lend a hand. For instance, one of our members was able to secure additional trees from the PNPP/City for planting this October and could use help. Dates and further information will be posted on our website and Facebook.

-Good news! The Pleasant Valley Parkway will receive some much needed improvements next Spring. Sections of the Parkway will be changed back to one-way and the dangerous intersections will be re-configured. Thanks to Council President Solomon and the neighbors who have been working on this project for several years now.

-A reminder that we work very closely with Lt. Reddy and Lt. Gannon on safety/crime issues and partner with Susan DeRita who started and manages a neighborhood crime watch group. If you would like to be added to Susan’s email notification list or have any questions, please contact Susan at susan.derita@cox.net.

Have you been to our Farmers’ Market at Fargnoli Park on Sundays 11am-2pm? If not, you’re missing out on freshly picked fruits and veggies from our RI farmers! Other goodies include all sorts of specialty sausages, baked goods, plants and flowers, vegan sweets, home-made granola, jams, pickles, relish…and more!

Each week at the Market we have activities for the kids. This Sunday 8/14, our member Jen will work with the children to make a mural. Stop by our ‘Kids Corner’ and join the fun!

Don’t forget that our Oakdale Farm sells beautiful, fresh and organic produce, herbs and fruit. Herb plants too!

Frey Florist will be back with gorgeous cut flowers and potted plants. Robin does a great job while Richard takes a well deserved vacation.

For your grilling this summer, PineView Farm has grass and grain fed meats such as kielbasa, authentic german knackwurst and bratwurst and two types of hot dogs. Also free range cornish hens, geese, duck and turkey…who knew?

Everyone was asking for Providence Juice last week…Josie and Jay finally took their honeymoon! They will be back tomorrow…yea!

Stop by to see Louise and try her delicious home-made green relish, jams and jellies. Nothing like home-made!

For unusual, hard to find micro greens, DuTemple Farm is the place to shop! David’s produce flies off the shelves! Stop by and say hello and hear about his new business.

Want to hear an interesting story? Meet Matham who works for Providence Granola and hear his tale about coming to the U.S. as a refugee from Iraq. Providence Granola was started by two Providence gents, Geoff and Keith, to help newly-arrived international refugees start rebuilding their lives. The product is made at the Amos House kitchen with the help of the refugees who are from Burundi, Myanmar and Iraq. So pick up some delicious granola and help a great cause!

Elmhurst resident Jen, owner of Lila’s Trunk, has been busily making her baby and children’s clothing from recycling fabrics – some vintage! They are beautiful and one of a kind and make great gifts!
